President's Report by Greg Birchall
Numbers down a little but a busy working meeting in which chairman John McDonald managed to fit in reports, an AGM and guest speaker Riley, who thrilled us with his Youth Exchange presentation on Australia prior to his departure to Canada.
Fortunately Ken Beale had crept back into town from Canada to keep him honest. We will need to get better at singing the national anthem or seriously consider scrapping it as part of the meeting opening. Later on in the evening the Board recommended just that.
Chris Fryar reported that planning for the Youth Exchange briefing is well advanced and we now look forward to a good weekend with a normal Monday meeting moved to Saturday night at the Bowls Club as part of the Briefing weekend program.
Secretary Graham Gill did a great job in leading the AGM and the election of Office Bearers for 2010-11.
Congratulations to John McDonald as Incoming President, with Graham Gill to continue as Secretary, Peter Bollen as Treasurer and Rob Harris as President Elect nominee. John will complete formation of the leadership group over the next few months.
Save Friday December 11th at 6:00 p.m. in you diary for a possible last Happy Hour for this year in the Sandbar at Crowne Plaza Torquay. Jason Burnett has allocated us a bar tab of $100 to get the evening moving. Once that has been used up we pay for our own drinks and nibbles. More details at the next meeting.
Enjoy schoolies week everybody. Cheers Greg Birchall.

| IMPORTANT: Meeting Apology Requirements by David Mitchell
MEETING APOLOGIES are your responsibility...
Our meetings have catered dinners, so if you are unable to attend a meeting, or if your partner is unable to attend a designated Partner's Night, YOU MUST ADVISE us of your absence.
There are two ways to do this:
1. filling out in advance the "Apology Book" that is available at each meeting,
2. telephone 03-5222-2022.
Apologies must be made no later than 12 o'clock noon, on the Monday of the meeting (unless other arrangements were addressed in the Bulletin). If no apology is recorded by that time, the absentee member willl be sent an invoice to pay the Club the dinner fee ($20) for your non-attendance, and/or that of your partner if it is an official Partner's Night.
Also note, if you are bringing a guest or partner (to a non-partner night), you need to notify us of the extra number of persons who are attending.
| Organ Donor Awareness by Mary Elliott
All Rotarians could make a difference!
br />The DonateLife public awareness program, backed by a group of medical specialists called the DonateLife Network, will encourage Australians to discover the facts about organ and tissue donation, to make an informed decision and discuss their wishes with their families.
About 40 per cent of Australians are not aware that even if they are registered as an organ donor, their family will be asked to give consent for organ donation to proceed after their death.
Organ Donor Registration forms are readily available from your nearest Medicare Office or you have only to call any member of our Team to gain further information.
Organ Donor Awareness Week – 21/27th February 2010 – please think about a display in your area!
