on Friday, August 26, 2011
six to eight o'clock
at Il Parata Restaurant in San Francisco--
Robert bravely fought his battle with cancer for a long time, and through it all never failed in his humanitarian efforts.
Robert's spirit and tireless service to the Bayview Hunters Point community and the San Francisco Bayview Rotary Club serves as an inspiration to all who knew him.
It is our hope that this Memorial Service will be an evening we collectively say good-bye to Robert and share our many happy memories of the time he shared with us.
If you would like to pay tribute to Robert publicly through a reading, speech, photographs or other action we welcome you to join us on the 26th to do so in his memory.

| Actor Danny Glover Brings Home the Gold!

The SF Bayview Rotary Club's Ben Robinson Educational Scholarship fundraiser was truly a Gold Star event as 70 rotarians and distinguished guests gathered to hear the message from actor, producer, and humanitarian Danny Glover!
The evening was a great success according to those who attended! Heart felt calls telling us how much they enjoyed the event started coming in on Saturday and have not stopped at the time of posting this news story!
Robinette presented Glover as an Honorary San Francisco Bayview Rotarian, a highlight for all rotarians in the hall!
The star in turn presented 90 year old Bayview Rotarian Ben Robinson with a special educational fundraising trophy saying "I have another 25 years before I get there and I just hope I am still just as active as you are Ben!" The crowd loved it!

Lee Page presented a history of Rotary and highlighted milestones in rotarian efforts as he presented the Bayview Rotary's newest honorary member, Danny Glover, with the Paul Harris Fellow Honors on behalf of the entire District 5150!
Everyone enjoyed the fabulous food, healthy coffees and got to listen to a lively and engaging sixty minute talk from screen icon Danny Glover!
