Livermore Chamber Update
by Dick Quigley

VISITING ROTARIANS

Bob Tucknot- Dublin

GUESTS

Rob Nuddleman - Chris Mohammed

Theme- Livermore Chamber - President presentation by Dale Kaye

Pres Tim opened the meeting again with a hammer and a tinker-bell!

Dennis shared Cuarnaveca Sister Club committee plans to take 11 guests to a Raider game. Club members will have to spend $45-60 bucks for tickets and come along for the camaraderie and fun. We must really go along way to meet or exceed the way they took care of us on our visit to their neighborhood.

Tim shared a football trivia fact that Brett Farve, with his Sunday forth Quarter magic over the 49ers was the 42nd forth quarter come back.

George brought Doug and Wanlon to the podium for Foundation giving special recognition.

Bob Tucknot made a loud plea for attendees to the second annual all you can eat Lobster feed October 10, at Shannon Center Dublin.

WanLon, was selling tickets for the Fall Gala Castlewood Country Club event November 7, 2009. Ticket price - $75/person...a reduction of $10 from last year.  See Mark for tables and sponsership opportunities.

Please take a moment and read over your committee's great work and sign on! This is our major fund raiser for the foundation and all proceeds will be for the Livermore High Schools Music and arts program. Fred passed the hat to Chris who rapidly passed it on to Ed just to make him happy. Fred reminded that he is looking for answers to his e-mail request for auction prizes in lieu of getting the hat!

Program - presentation by Dale KayeLivermore Chamber - President

Chris welcomed and introduced Dale Eldridge Kay, who told us Livermore is the 5th largest Chamber in the bay area, and that Livermore is a Mecca and hub of social, and cultural innovation. The most colorful thing the Chamber does according to Dale is the film commission. She has never seen a more passionate interested community than Rotary. Initiatives for film making opportunities abound and she hared a video of the valley showing the attributes for filmmaking. She indicated that an episode of Americas most wanted, and a film crew in Livermore recently shot a chase seen down Main Street.  We may have heard that Capt Scott had a bit part. The film Dale showed showcased our incredible community!

Chris; keep up the good work on great speakers!

Before the meeting adjourned Bill B gave us an early heads up on our 2010-bocce tournament set for April 18 next year!

Respectfully Dick Q
