Rotary Meeting of June 26, 2013

   By Vic Raskovsky:

Eleven stalwart Rotarians attended the June 26 farewell meeting for President Bryan DeHart (Sic Semper Tyrannis).    Some were actually sad to see the end of his tyrannical regime but most spent dollars in fines to celebrate.  Some referred to him as the DEPARTED, some referred his overthrow as the “Rotarian Spring”, but all thanked him for the year of effort that he expended in taking care of the Beaver Rotary Club.

No greeter, no song leader, no program, no problem we worked around it but we missYOU.  Mark Nwlaon led us in prayer and was not struck down much to our surprise.

The main course was steak and Liz was back to provide piano accompaniment to the choir.

Bryan filled in for song leader and program.  Songs include a spontaneous: For He’s a Jolly Good Fellow, a couple of verses of R-O-T-A-R-Y, and Smile.

Mark Nelson collected many fine dollars thanking Bryan for his year at the wheel.  And a couple of other points included:

• Bryan’s daughter has a job
• Mark’s daughter is home and in school

• Rob Tacey’s son plays baseball and will likely lose to Beaver tonight

Bryan Dehart asked if the masses wished to have a meeting on July 3 and the response was unanimous in cancelling.  I think the idea of not having Bryan as El Presidente was too much to bear to have a meeting so soon after his departure.  There was not a dry eye in the house!
Yvonne Connor won $4 from the 50/50 so the pot is now well over $400!!!

See you all on July 10th when Fred Segal takes command!
