Milking Cows in Kremi, Georgia

The Midland Rotary Club in cooperation with the Rotary Club of Tbilisi provided financial assistance to the people of Kremi, Georgia. Our club contributed $4,000 US. This project was eligible for matching grants from the district and the foundation which totaled $12,000 US collectively.

Charitable Union Temi, an organization located just outside Kremi, cares for orphans and disabled children below the poverty line in an old school. They live from the produce of the gardens and their cows and the barter system of food, in exchange for use of equipment to the locals.

Our donation has enabled them to plant 7.5 acres of vines so that they can sell their grapes to make an income. This project will help them to become self sufficient. They anticipate that after 3 years they will have a small income of $2,000, after 4 years, $7,000 and in the 7th year, $14,000-15,000 US.
