Guide For Setting Up A Program

As Program Chair you will be responsible not only for arranging a speaker but also for the flavor of the meeting on the day of your program.

As Program Chair you will decide on:

- The speaker and the topic. Plan this well in advance and email the information to the club P.R. Director so a press release can be issued.

- Whether or not to include music and or humor. This will be dictated by the length of time your speaker will need with an eye on 1:00 adjournment. (Allow time for Q & A.) You will have to arrange for a pianist or other musician if needed. The 50/50 drawing takes place at the very end of the meeting.

Opening ceremonies, traditional but not mandatory:

- A reflection, if you wish, said either by you or by someone you have chosen in advance. The reflection can be a reading, a prayer, a moment of silence, a quotation, etc.
- A patriotic song or the Pledge of Allegiance, if you wish. You will have to arrange for a pianist or other musician if needed.
