Bellaire/Southwest Houston Rotary is committed to developing character, service, and skills in the leaders of tomorrow and to that end sponsors a community-based RotarAct Club that was chartered in November 2006.

Rotaract clubs provide an opportunity for young adults to enhance their knowledge and skills that will assist them in personal development, to aid the physical and social needs to their communities, and to promote better relations between people worldwide. Offering a financial commitment that recognizes youthful career-building status, RotarAct is designed for  young men and women ages 18 to 30 who want to make a difference in society. As in baseball, RotarAct clubs serve a "farm club" function that helps prepare future Rotarians for a lifetime of service above self.

Rotaract was founded in 1968 by Rotary International. Today there are over 7,000 Rotaract clubs with more than 165,000 members. All RotarAct Clubs must be sponsored by a Rotary Club. RotarActors often become Ambassadorial Scholars or Group Study Exchange team members. For additional information about either joining BSWH RotarAct or sponsoring a new Rotaract club, email Nan Wagoner.
