Families cannot battle cancer
alone.
The financial and emotional strain on a family can be
devastating throughout the treatment and recovery phases of
cancer.
Embrace A
Family
is
a means for families to access a local lifeline for support.
The goals of this committee are to support families in
our community who are incurring overwhelming hardships due to a cancer diagnosis
by:
1. Providing financial support for non-medical expenses
such as transportation, groceries, child care, utility bill assistance and other
expenses that can ease the strain on a family battling
cancer.
2. Offering Preventive Care, such as bringing Boston's
Mobile Mammography Van, operated by the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to Natick for
yearly screenings.
3. Sharing support and resource information such as
local support groups run by Licensed Clinical Social Workers, along with
Nutrition, Health and Wellness information.
