Laura Kline's 2007-8 Membership Plan

Rotary Club of Gurnee Membership Growth and Retention Plan 2007 - 2008 Retaining Existing Members "Family of Rotary" person to keep in touch with members that have illnesses or other special needs in their immediate family. · Make sure everyone is involved and active in at least one committee. Assign seating bimonthly to move Rotarians around more & sit with people they wouldn't normally sit with Once a quarter, have a topic for each table to talk about during breakfast (i.e. discuss why you are a member of Rotary) If a member is leaving Rotary, conduct exit interviews and have them refer another person to take their place. Assign a mentor in addition to the sponsor of every new member as a direct contact to answer questions. Monthly membership report must be distributed to members and contact should be made with members with low attendance to let them know we miss them. · One fireside chat per quarter · New member orientation conducted before induction with checklist. · Keep updating website Bimonthly have an interesting speaker talking about Rotary so Gurnee Rotarians see the "big picture" of Rotary. Recruiting New Members Advertise open classifications and encourage all members to seek out prospects in these fields. Then have members write a referral down for the club to send a recruitment letter & brochure, then follow up with a phone call. · Encourage members to use their "invite a guest" cards. · Comp one quarter of lunches for any Rotarian who brings in a new member. · Hold quarterly "bring a guest days". Display our Gurnee Rotary info in prominent places such as the library bulletin board or shopping centers. · Get our meeting time and location in every area newspaper. · Have a breakfast every year and invite former Rotarians. · Create a public relation campaign. · Implement a membership contest within the club. · Host a social event for prospective members during the Rotary year. · Provide the library with a subscription to the Rotarian Magazine. · Always have membership folders on hand and brochures available. Begin new "hands on" activity combining community service, community awareness of Rotary, auction soliciting, and invitations to visit our club - possibly neighborhood food drives. · Invite area corporations to send a speaker, then recruit them. · Have chart in front with a recruiting reminder Recognize a community member every year with a Service Above Self A ward and then make them an honorary member.
