A Proud Tradition of Service

Culver City Rotary Community Foundation - Founded in 1987, the non-profit charitable foundation supports the many service programs of the Culver City Rotary Club, both local and international. The foundation Board reviews each program in depth to insure that it meets the criteria of the Objects of Rotary and the goals and objectives for service of the Culver City Rotary Club.  More Community Foundation information

Adult Literacy Program - Culver City Rotary Club furnishes major funding for the Adult Literacy Program offered by the CCUSD. A Culver City Rotarian sits on the Adult Literacy Program Board and several Rotarians and their spouses have served as tutors.

Interact - The members of the Interact Club of Culver City High School  have implemented many community service projects.  These projects include food drives for needy families, support of intramural high school programs and other programs.  The club has participated in the construction of the Rotary International floats for the New Year's Day Rose Parade.

Culver-Palms YMCA - The YMCA and Culver City Rotary Club have enjoyed a special relationship since the Y's founding 61 years ago by members of the Rotary Club. At present, Rotarians comprise more than a quarter of the Y's Board of Managers. In addition to financial support, Rotary members participate in virtually every aspect of YMCA operations. 

Culver City Community Scholarship Fund - A long time contributor to community scholarships, Culver City Rotary awards two scholarships annually.  The senior boy and girl with the best GPA at at Culver City High School are the recipients of these scholarships.  The Most Improved Student Scholarship is given to the student may begin their high school career with low grades and has excellent grades by graduation.  The Jules Zentner-Culver City Rotary Interact Scholarship is given to an outstanding Interactor providing leadership and service.

Dictionary Project - Each third grade student in Culver City annually receives his or her own personal dictionary from the Culver City Rotary Club.  The goal of this program is to assist the students in completing the school year as good writers, active readers and creative thinkers.

Boy Scout Troop 113 - Culver City Rotary sponsors the active Culver City Scout Troop.  Each year scouts participate in certain Rotary activities and the Rotary Club supports the troop programs.  Troop 113 Information.

Friends of the Culver City Youth Health Center - Culver City Rotary is a sponsor of the school program for mental and physical health at Culver City High School and Middle School, as well as for the elementary level.

Culver City Rotary Plaza - Culver City Rotary in conjunction with Retirement Housing Foundation, sponsors an attractive, modern facility of  100 units of low-income senior citizen housing within the city.  Culver City Rotary Plaza, Inc., a California non-profit, was established with a HUD section 202 loan of $4.7 million in 1983.  The building was completed October 2, 1985.

Guide Dogs of America - Culver City Rotary sponsors the foster care of a potential guide dog for the blind, from 7 weeks of age until the pup goes into formal training at 18 months of age.
