A Letter from Your President

 

 

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the members of the Culver City Rotary Club for asking me to represent them as their president for the year of 2009 - 2010.  It truly is a great honor to be selected.

 

Looking over our club with an objective eye and asking myself what this next year could do to contribute to the strengthening of our club, I concluded that the biggest contribution should be in the area of membership recruitment and development.  Comparing to years past, it is clear that we have experienced adverse changes in the business environment.  These changes have affected the membership recruitment of not only our club but all the service clubs in our area.  The service clubs that have not adapted to these changes are slowly becoming extinct.  It is my goal as the President of the Culver City Rotary Club to not allow our club to participate with this extinction.

 

The Director of Membership and I have developed two new programs to address the goals of this year. The first program is called Membership Baseball.  It is a comprehensive program that is designed to bring in at least ten new prospective members in the first year.  Our intent is to get every member of our club involved.  If we are to grow as a club, than it must be a complete club effort.

 

Second, we have developed a new Membership Mentor program.  The intent of this program is to make sure our new members get off on the right foot.  We want to encourage them to get involved with all aspects of the club and to discourage them from falling through the cracks and becoming dysfunctional members.

 

If we are able to reach our goal of enlisting ten new members in the first year and develop these new members into active Rotarians than I believe that our future as a successful Rotary Club will be secure.
