Ambassadorial Scholarships
Academic Year 2010-2011
Rotary Clubs of Clark County along with the Rotary Foundation of Rotary
International have scholarships available to travel and study abroad
for suitable recipients. The scholarships, available for vocational,
graduate or postgraduate endeavors, are designed to further
international understanding and goodwill. The Scholarships are
available in more than 160 countries. Requirements for candidates of
the Rotary Foundation Education Award:
* Nominees are
outstanding students, technicians, or teachers and potential
"Ambassadors of Goodwill", demonstrate personal qualities of
leadership, initiative, enthusiasm, adaptability, maturity and
seriousness of purpose.
* Applicants must have completed two
years of college or university or equivalent at the time the
scholarship starts.
* Candidates must be sponsored by a local Rotary Club.
* Applicants can not be Rotarians or relatives or dependents of a Rotarian by blood or marriage.
* Candidates must be available for several personal interviews.
* Language knowledge of the country of study is not required, but must be studied after acceptance.
* Upon completion of studies, the scholar must be available to present
highlights of the experience abroad to local Rotary Clubs.
