The Rotary Club of Highlands Ranch is very active in many rewarding Community Service activities. Following are a few of the many activities from which members might wish to join in service.
Western Welcome Week. Chaired by club member Mark Eberly who has done an outstanding job during the past several years, our club volunteers to sell cold beverages to thirsty passers by.
September's Backpack to School program. Members Carolyn Bradish and Judy Rooney did a great job and organized this event. The club graciously sponsored over 20 back packs for Interfaith Community Services.
October's "Make a Difference Day". This event ties in with USA Weekend's idea of devoting a day during the year simply to help others. Our club has elected to raise awareness for the critical need our community experiences in feeding many deserving, needy people by collecting non-perishables at area grocery stores. This event raised enough food to serve over 420 families at Interfaith Community Services in Englewood.
Project C.U.R.E. delivers millions of dollars of donated medical supplies, equipment, and pharmaceuticals to desperately ill and needy people in more than 100 countries around the world. Highlands Ranch Rotary Club has made a commitment to donate three hours the third Thursday of each month. Please contact us if this is something you are interested in helping with. Rotary has a special connection with Project Cure as you can see here.
Club members often help out with the Highlands Ranch Community Association by volunteering to grill and serve everything from hotdogs to hot cocoa for special events.
Doug Doig is chairing and organizing an opportunity for club members to put their contracting skills to use. Members will have a chance to be involved in the construction of a home with Habitat for Humanity.
Other events will be planned so stop by our weekly meeting and see how you can get involved.
