- PolioPlus, Rotary's commitment to eradicate polio in the world by the
year 2000. More than one billion children in developing nations have
been immunized against polio. 154 countries are now declared polio free
with the last case in the Americas in 1991 in Peru. This year,
Rotarians from Cupertino Rotary will travel to Ghana, Western Africa,
to administer the life saving oral polio drops - 3,500,000 children
will be immunized in one day.

educational, and cultural exchange programs that touch people's lives
in their local communities and our world community.
- Membership is by invitation and is based upon a vocational
classification. Attendance at meetings is a basic obligation and a
member may make-up a meeting at any Rotary Club in the world.

The Rotary Club of Cupertino was chartered in 1955 and has over
180 men and women representing a wide cross-section of local businesses
and professions. The club meets each Wednesday at noon at the Quinlan
Community Center, 10185 North Stelling Road, Cupertino, for fellowship,
lunch, and interesting and informative programs dealing with topics of
local and global importance. Member fellowship includes many social and
sports events. The club is a member of Rotary District 5170 comprised
of 59 clubs and 4,000 members which is located in the greater Silicon
Valley.
