Thanks for agreeing to sponsor a high school student from your community. As you know, the Camp has been helping build young leaders for almost years. RYLA counselors and parents describe the five-day experience as "amazing." Others have commented, "Kids simply discover new resources and confidence within themselves."
Below is a brief calendar of your club's responsibilities:
January through February:
- Recruit RYLA chairperson and committee
- Recruit students: programming focuses on juniors in high school; however, we also accept sophomores and seniors.
February through March:
Inform the RYLA committee of the number of students you plan to sponsor and your club's contact person: name, phone number(s) and e-mail.
Applications and Health forms are available on this site.
By March 20:
Discuss potential applicants with local committee, select awardees, and forward their application forms to the RYLA committee by March 27, 2009.

Between March 27 and April 3:
- Inform your students that they will receive a "welcome" packet (via mail) from the RYLA committee.
- Arrange transportation from your community to Camp St. Croix and, following the camp's conclusion, from the Radisson Hotel to your community. Provide student with driver's name and phone numbers, including cell phone.
- Inform your club members and the community about the award and the students.
Following the camp's session:
- Invite your RYLA awardees to participate in a Rotary meeting. Student enthusiasm for the camp experience is catching!
- Help RYLA participants remember the importance of talking about their experience to other students-and to recommend it to others.
