Reprinted from a series of articles written by Past RI President, Cliff Dochterman.
Nonattendance Rule - The Standard Rotary Club Constitution specifies three conditions under which a Rotarian's membership will automatically be terminated for nonattendance. These circumstances are: failure to attend or make up four consecutive club meetings, failure to attend or make up 60 percent of club meetings each six months, and failure to attend at least 30 percent of the meetings of one's own club in each six-month period. Under any of these three cases, a member will lose Rotary membership unless the club board of directors has previously consented to excuse such failure for good and sufficient reason.

The District Leadership Academy was created to increase Rotarians'
effectiveness in their clubs and professions by developing their
leadership skills. The Leadership Academy provides a leading edge
forum for you to significantly enhance your leadership skills. Whether
you hold a leadership position in a Rotary Club or in business, this
course will equip you with the leadership skills to take you to the
next level. You will learn how to manage volunteers, motivate others,
set goals, and manage your time effectively. As a result, you will
gain confidence in your abilities and be able to handle leadership
challenges and lead your people to sustained high performance.
The next class will be held in Gainesville on August 22.

We are in the process of coordinating our Rotary Programs for 2009-2010. Many of you have shared suggestions regarding program opportunities. I would appreciate your letting me know regarding any opportunities you may have to assist us in securing any truly interesting programs. We currently have a number of open dates in the 1st quarter still remaining. We would like to secure programs with a local flavor but very much would like to extend our program outreach to both the metro area as well as the entire State and Region. You may contact me by e-mail or by calling me. We appreciate your support.
