The moment we have all worked so hard for, the 59th Auction is now live. We have a tremendous 400 plus items donated by 290 companies adding up to $75,000. With our new initiative of awarding donors who have donated items or services of $250 or more we have over 100 companies that qualify. Absolutely amazing and thanks to the dedication of most of the Rotarians in the club.

On Tuesday just before noon President Bob Campbell, Past-President, Ron Fichtner & President-Elect Bob Hlina went to the Carney Hill school playground and officially opened it. After 3 years of paperwork, red tape & finally purchasing and erecting, the playground is complete.
We are so proud to be able to help with this project, it means so much to the school which is the central point of the Carney Hill neighbourhood and provides the children with a place to play safely.
This is but another example of the hard word and dedication of Rotarians to make our city a better place. But this wouldn't be possible without the support Rotarians receive from the whole community when they buy their raffle tickets, the business's who donate items to our annual auction and the individual who use the auction to do their shopping.
Wow! It has already been 2 months since I have first arrived in Belgium. The good news my French is slowly but surely improving, the bad news I'm quickly becoming broke. But that is Europe for you! Things are going very good here in Belgium so far. The weather is getting quite cold, although I guess not as cold as Canada. Also if my

Tuesday night saw 45 or so Rotarians, family and friends out for a great night of bowling, drinking, eating and laughing. From all accounts it was a very successful outing.
