While Michiganders continue to enjoy and/or persevere another winter, Howell Rotarians have a full plate of activities to serve and support the community over the next few months.
At the February 15th Meeting, Maggie Jones, Livingston County Board of Commissioners Chairperson, will give us an update on the Livingston County activities including budget discussions, current staffing and funding challenges.
Saturday, Feb. 13th, Howell Rotarians are invited to join Patty Griffith and other Rotarians for the 20th Annual Walk for Warmth, which will be held at the Hartland Educational Services Center, also known as the Old Hartland High School, off M-59, just west of US 23 from 9 am to 11 am. Pledges are encouraged, and proceeds are used to help the less fortunate heat their homes.
On March 10th, 4:30 pm to 7:30 pm, the Howell Rotary will host its 4th annual Wine & Cheese Event at Howell's Main Street Winery (corner of W. Grand River and Walnut Street in Downtown Howell.) Tickets are $15 a person and proceeds will be used to support the Howell Carnegie District Library literacy programs and the Howell Parks & Recreation youth programs. Jeanne Clum of United Way, Candy Jones-Guerin of LACASA and Pattie Griffith of First National are spearheading the Rotary effort of networking and comradrie.
Our Ace Keggler Dan Murdock has once again stepped up to the lanes and will captain the Howell Rotary Team for the annual Bowling for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Saturday,March 20th. So, if you can toss a ball down those lanes, please see Dan and pledges are welcome for this worthy event.
The Howell District Carnegie Libarary has a full slate of events in February including "Chet Gecko & Malted Falcon Party," Monday Feb. 15 and the Big Read through Feb. 28th featuring the ageless work "The Maltese Falcon."
