Interplast Australia and New Zealand sends out 20-30 teams of medical professionals each year to the South Pacific, to South EAst Asia, and more recently into Africa. Each visit has a service committment ( the team did over 100 operations over the two week period), but more importantly, its real aim is to teach, and to help develop the health systems in our less fortunate neighbours.
This year our team made its 6th visit to Balikapapan in East Kalimantan.

The dental team of RAWCS volunteers this year (2008) visited the Cook
Islands. It was their 13th major trip, interspersed with a few
discovery visits since 1996. All self funded, and all achieving
significant advances in dental management in the Pacific Islands.
