The November 5, 2009 issue of the Manhattan Beach Sun ran a front page article titled "For MB Rotary, It's Service Above Self and Then Some..." It's a very positive story about what we stand for and our accomplishments.
This is a video of the Manhattan Beach City Council meeting on October 6, 2009. At this meeting our Rotary Club was recognized for the work we did on the Joslyn Center.

KEEN is a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. Our Rotary club is a sponsor of the LA chapter of this organization.

On Monday, October 12th, Gil Garcetti gave a very inspirational presentation about the importance of clean drinking water in Africa. If you missed the presentation, you can view a video of it. Jan Rhees has DVD's. Just ask Jan if you can borrow a copy.
Gil is a wonderful and talented photographer. His presentation included pictures he took during his travels to Africa. Below is a link to that part of his presentation. It will be worth your while to take a quick look at them.
We all enjoyed the "History of the Manhattan Beach Rotary Club" presentation this morning by Paul Allman, John Rhind, and Dave Hornbecker.
