LC Integrated Services
Posted by McNeil, Holly on May 15 2009

Lake Country Rotary Club has been assisting the Lake Country Integrated Services Society for the past four or five years. This group owns and operates a centrally-located social services facility, permitting many organizations to do their good works here in Lake Country. Without it, many Lake Country residents would be travelling outside of the community to access them. Read on for more detail in a report from Kathi Thompson and Wendy Picco, two members of the Board.

Posted by McNeil, Holly on Jul 19 2008

ShelterBoxes.... our club continues to support this most excellent project, one that was recently promoted by 2008/09 DG Roger Perry. We have sent two club contributions in the spring/summer of 2008, as well as a collection of personal Rotarian donations .

If you want to read more about ShelterBoxes, a project of Rotary clubs around the world that was launched in England, how you can be trained to help deliver them, what the ShelterBox Canada goals are, there is an excellent newsletter that comes about 4 times a year. Email Holly to ask for regular newsletters.

For general background, go to their website.

See below for info about becoming a ShelterBox volunteer. This is part of their Oct. 08 newsletter.

Lake Country Rotary is well on the way to meeting our committment of $25,000 for the  Central Okanagan Hospice House. We recently passed a motion to give $15,000 immediately, and the recent beef raffle was designated specifically for Hospice. We agreed to raise the entire amount over three years, beginning in 06/07 Rotary year.
