Yesterday’s meeting was great! Major Freeman Martin of the Texas Rangers was extremely informative. We should be grateful to have the Rangers protecting our State.
As a reminder, please be sure to make reservations when planning to attend a weekly meeting at the Houston City Club. This really helps to ensure we have enough seats and food for everyone.
I would like to ask each of you to send me your suggestions on the following:
1) increasing our membership
2) great program ideas
The club will be planning several social events this year. One of which will be the viewing of the National Geographic movie, “The First Grader”, at the Rotary office. It documents the educational problems in Kenya. I encourage you to visit their website at http://movies.nationalgeographic.com/movies/the-first-grader/ for more details. We will keep you posted as we finalize a date and time, but plan to invite your family and friends.
I hope you will attend our meeting on July 26th to learn more about one of our club projects. Our speaker will be Dr. Doug Jackson, President and CEO of Project C.U.R.E. He has traveled to the Vanuatu Islands to assess the needs of the poor hospitals and our club will be sending them a 40’ container full of medical equipment and supplies.
I look forward to seeing you next week!
