Art MacQueen grew up in the Detroit area and attended Eastern Michigan University. Art and Gingie, married 34 years, have two children, three grandchildren; all residing in the Northeast Florida area.
Art worked in retail management prior to accepting the position of CEO and President of a northern Michigan company manufacturing industrial cutting tool packaging. After 13 years he pursued a warmer climate in Florida in 1995, "as our parents had done before us."
In Florida, Art stayed busy volunteering with The American Red Cross in disaster response and officiating local track and cross country events.
A second career presented itself when Art joined a telecom company eventually becoming a Southeast sales manager. After 11 years of service a second attempt at retiring was made.
Retirement #2 did not last long as friends in the telecom software business reached out and Art accepted the position of Special Projects Manager for a Pittsburgh-based communications firm.
While visiting a client in Daytona Beach Art was asked as a guest to attend a Thursday morning Rotary meeting. Not knowing much about Rotary Art recognized it as a great opportunity to network with local business professionals. He attended his first meeting in the spring of 2001. The Rotary Club of Daytona Beach West has been Art's Rotary home since.
Art has served at a number of club levels including President and director. At the District level Art was an Asst. Governor (2006-09), and served on the Fund and Share committees and as District Grants Committee Chair. Art is a multiple Paul Harris Fellow and a Benefactor. Wife Gingie is also a Paul Harris Fellow |
