The Howell Rotary Club will meet on Monday, December 19, 2011 for lunch at 12:00 at the Howell Opera House, 123 W. Grand River in Downtown Howell.

The program will feature an entertaining performance by the Howell Highlander Chorale directed by Mr. Rod Bushey.  This continues a long tradition of our Club hosting the Chorale for lunch with their performance following.  We look forward to another ‘Jolly, Jolly Christmas’ show!

Last week Club member Kathleen Zaenger introduced Howell Carnegie District Library staff members Holly and Jerilee for their presentation featuring the world of e-readers and e-books.  The presentation was quite informative and the discussion following was equally interesting.  Club members speculated about the future of “real books” as well as the future of those brick and mortar buildings called “libraries.” 

Special Note:  Holly and Jerilee will be conducting a workshop at the library on January 10 from 2:00 – 3:00pm to help walk people through the learning process of downloading library e-books to their devices.  This same program will be repeated on January 11 at 7:00pm.
