Editor: Burk, Molly

The Howell Rotary Club will meet on Monday, March 26, 2012 for lunch at 12:00 in the Community Room at St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital on Byron Road in Howell.

This week Club Member Sandie Cortez will be our program host.  Sandie will introduce Candye Hinton from ReMax Reality in Brighton.  Candye is know for many things in our County ranging from her selling Real Estate, leading the Livingston Diversity Council, for her current service on the Howell Chamber of Commerce Board, and as the mother of our Outbound Exchange Student.  Candye gets things done and she will be speaking about a new initiative that she is starting in Livingston County.

At the last meeting, held March 19th, Club Member Doris Stromer introduced Dr. Richard Shaink, President of Mott Community College.  Dr. Shaink spoke of Mott’s entry into the County back in the ‘90’s as the entity that opened and operates the Michigan Works facility in the County.  It’s a great training and retraining facility for a wide range of work skills.  It was good to be reminded about the wonderful facilities and opportunities that exist right here in the Howell area.  Many of our county residents and businesses have availed themselves of the opportunity to enhance their existing skills and acquire new ones.

Remember, your calendar should already have Sunday, October 14 on their calendar as a day they will be volunteering to work the Tour event!

See You Monday!
