Rotary Responds
	ROTARY RESPONDS! BSWH Rotarians responded to Katrina-victim-needs by filling two SUVs with socks, underwear, towels, and bedding that were delivered direct to Louisiana Thursday, Sep 8, in a huge RV driven by our sharpstown Rotary brethren to Baton Rouge. The second delivery brought relief to first responders still struggling with a lack of facilities and supplies and were hugely appreciated. Ray Burgert & Nan Wagoner delivered BSWH donations to Chuck Monteith of Sharpstown Rotary on September 1st. Rick Sims' SIMS CITY CLEANERS cleaned clothing for donation to Katrina victims free of charge and headed his industry's contribution of abandoned clothing.
Bellaire Rotary Club members contributed more than $1000 to Rotary District 5890's ongoing disaster rehabilitation fund and joined the massive Rotary District 5890 effort manning the Dome City command center 24/7 that housed Katrina evacuees following the disaster. All Houston Rotarians were honored at the Texans Game in the Fall, then again with the "Dome City" Award at the "Texan of the Year" Ceremony Recognizing Katrina-Relief Volunteers.
