Thanks to Jeanne Noxon for arranging our first keynote presentation of the new Rotary Year with internationally acclaimed speaker Dr. Jennie Bennett. Jeanne (left) is pictured congratulating Dr. Bennett (center) with Judy Harwell (right). Dr. Bennett is an expert on changing the outlook from despair to hopefulness for cancer survivors during and after diagnosis and treatment. Founder and Director of the charitable organization, Reconstruction of a Survivor, she was honored with Houston Woman Magazine’s 2009 Broad Shoulders Award for her pioneering work with the spiritual and emotional aspects of and beyond breast cancer and has served as director of the Houston Urban Systemic Initiative through the National Science Foundation.
