Gov. Clint Dawkins of District 6970 spoke to Alachua County Rotarians during a dinner Sept. 20 at the Hatchet Creek facility. He emphasized District goals that included increasing membership levels, improving our already outstanding support of the Rotary Foundation, celebrating Florida Rotary's 100th anniversary in February and participating in one of the district's one-day conventions this spring.
Downtown Gainesville Rotary was well-represented. Members attending included President Destani Shadrick, President-elect Perry Pursell, Becky Hunt, Brenda Chamberlain, Ted Kellermann,  Connie Rowe and Rob Oglesby.
Three other clubs -- High Springs, Greater Gainesville and Sunrise -- were also represented at the event and wnjoyed the great barbecue served up by the Foundation Fryers. DG Dawkins visited the Gainesville Rotary Club at its regular Tuesday meeting at noon.
