The focus of the month of August in Rotary International is New Generations, indicative of Rotary's commitment to the youth of the world.

      One example of Rotary's ability to influence the youth of the world can be seen on a club level. Several months ago Penny Wheat spoke at our club. Her presentation led club member Larry Christian to speak with her about some of his son Erich's research interests. Now Erich will serve on the Energy Conservation Strategies Committee, one of the youngest appointees to such a committee in state history.

      Sometimes Rotary influences the young through Rotarian involvement in other organizations, such as the Boys and Girls Club and Junior Achievement.

      Rotary is and can be a tremendous influence for good among today's Youth. Let's all be a part of that.
