The 10th annual Garden Show hosted by the Peterborough & Northumberland Master Gardeners was held at The Evinrude Centre Friday evening April 8, Saturday April 9 & Sunday April 10.Past President Lloyd Graham scheduled Rotarian parking lot attendants directing patrons to parking spaces for a donation of $2 to the club. Without this service there would have been a major traffic problem. In addition Lisa Smith arranged the selling of Raffle tickets by Rotarians as a fundraiser for the club with a 1st prize of a Montreal weekend Getaway, 2nd prize of a Niagara Region Adventure, & 3rd prize of Garden Equipment. The draw will be held Monday April 18 during our weekly Rotary meeting. This fundraiser was initated by Past President Susan Mackle who continues to serve as chair of our Rotary Garden Committee. Saturday April 9th was a gorgeous warm sunny spring day so the Rotarians on parking duty stayed warm & dry, however, Sunday was cool with a steady downpour of rain + the occasional roar of thunder so umbrellas & rain gear were in order. The parking lots at the Evinrude Centre and The Canoe Museum were full both days an indication of the large number of patrons attending this very popular show. The new portable Rotary booth organized by Director Ken Seim was used I believe for the 1st time & is quite impressive. You can view the booth & more pictures in the Photos Journal column on this page.
