| Weekly Meeting of May 28, 2012 -- A Very Special Rotary Project |

At our regular weekly meeting we were given an update on a very special Rotary project. Former President Mo Cox described in pictures and words the completion of the Nuevo Paraiso water tower in Honduras. Our club financed the project with an $18,000 donation and has financed several other projects for this community, including a water and sewer system, ditches for surface water drainage and a school for young women to teach them some skills to improve their lot in life. The community was started by Sister Maria Rosa for orphaned and abandoned youth. Mo, Mike Evans, Garry Humphreys, and Lucas Smith flew to Honduras at their own expense in February 2012 to celebrate the official opening of the water tower.
