Brownie Troop 441 had an exciting March meeting at Countryside Elementary School with ShelterBox representative and Barrington Noon Rotarian Reese Mates. The girls were challenged to think of important items they would need for their family if a natural disaster took their home. After discussion the girls opened up a ShelterBox and set up the 10-person tent, and the other lifesaving tools inside the 130lb. big green box. Cookie sales enabled them to contribute $450 towards a ShelterBox for a family in need. About 100,000 Haitians are living in ShelterBox tents right now. ShelterBox is the largest Rotary Club project in the world that quickly delivers disaster relief anywhere on our planet to victims in need

Each box contains shelter, water purification for three years, rebuilding tools, cooking supplies, a cooker, blankets, floor mats, a children's pack, and other lifesaving tools. Find out more at www.shelterboxus.org .
