Welcome NZ Students!
Editor: Warren Bobrow

Click to view image in actual size Westchester Rotary and the Westchester High, St. Bernard's and El Segundo High Interactors welcomed 44 New Zealand International Youth Exchange students and their chaperones Mel and Zandra Cook to Los Angeles for 4 days.

For the last 25+ years, Westchester Rotary has welcomed IYE students from all 6 New Zealand districts.  Each student is spending a year in a foreign country, including the US, Canada, Mexico, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Austria, and France.

The Club took them on a walking tour of Venice and arranged for them to go to Disneyland and Universal Studios.  One night, the Club hosted them for dinner.  The other night, the Interact Clubs hosted them.  It was wonderful meeting all of the students and helping them start their adventure.

An added bonus was that the home club of the chaperones (Inglewood, NZ) has a sister club relation ship with our neighbors, the Inglewood, CA club.  Several Inglewood members joined us at the dinner and Inglewood's president, Jaimee Sul, exchanged flags with Mel.
