Wilshire Rotary welcomed another visiting Rotarian who found us on the club website and Facebook page and decided to do his make-up meeting at our club.
Jonathan Parker, is a past president of the Rotary Club of Miami, Florida, and presently serves as Vice-Chair of Membership of District 6990. He joined us last Wednesday for one of the most enjoyable and informative Craft Talks in recent club history presented by Wilshire Rotarian and Computer Guru, Richard Lee.
Jonathan expressed his appreciation that our website explained when, where, and how to visit Wilshire Rotary and there is FREE parking. He especially liked the warm and friendly welcome he received at the club. (We do, after all, have the reputation of being The Friendliest Club in the Region.) Jonathan said he travels to Los Angeles every year to attend a conference and found his home away from home at Wilshire Rotary. President Kyle presented Jonathan with a Wilshire Rotary banner as a mememto of his visit to our club.
Before returning home to Miami, Jonathan posted a thank you note on our Facebook page:
“Thanks for your hospitality. It was great to visit your club. You are on the right track in incorporating cyberspace into your member communications. For whatever it's worth, I tried visiting another club whose website indicated that the meeting was at 6:30pm, when I got there, I found out it was at 6:30AM! Guess they hadn't updated their information recently. Thanks again. (P.S., I need a local agent... if any of you have an introduction, I'd sure appreciate it).”
