Kim Gallagher, associate planner, Southwest Michigan Planning Commission, reviewed public transportation options in Berrien County. Thanks to some federal funds there are now two options for residents: Dial-a-Ride and scheduled bus routes covering most of the twin cities. She provided routes for the Red, Green and Blue services. These are important services since 60% of households in the city of Benton Harbor do not have automobiles. Berrien Bus handles all the other transportation needs outside the cities of Benton Harbor, St. Joseph, Niles and Buchanan.
