Brian Saxton welcomed Dayna Kozminski, director of development for the LMC Foundation, with a $1,700 check for the new music scholarship funded by the proceeds from the Five Emprees Concert.  Dayna was pleased to accept and promised to find appropriate students for the award.  That shouldn't be a problem since it's her main role at the college to work with the financial aid department to match donations with students.  She manages a $10 million endowment, plus sponsorships like our club's annual awards, and fundraising which produced $600,000 worth of scholarships in 2011.  Non traditional students are 50%  of the recipients, assisted by LMC's on-site day care.  Scholarships play an important role in students chance for success; in total, 61% of students receive financial aid.
