Thank you for the privilege of being your president!
Rotary International has worked really hard to get me ready and I have tried to absorb what they were saying.
As many of you know this club sent me to the 100th RI convention in
Birmingham, England, where I picked up several new ideas. Thank You
very much!

My take is that Rotary is about having fun, helping others and helping ourselves.
I will work to make the club meetings fun and informative.
I hope we will have more fellowship, so the idea I picked up is to have a party instead of the fifth meeting of the month. July has 5 Thursdays, so our first party will be the first weekend of August and everyone and their guest is invited! We will decide on a restaurant hopefully with a private room, and whoever shows up orders from the menu and we enjoy ourselves!
We will do a lot for Polio-Plus - the elimination of that disease from the whole world. It is endemic in only four countries and all of them look promising to be complete very soon, but lots of money is being committed to complete that task.
We will also continue to have hands on projects here in Glendale.
But remember: we are very privileged compared to 99% of the people in the world. This gives us an opportunity to help both with our time and effort; as well as our money.
We will have fellowship, fun, and help others!
So, lets have a wonderful year together!
