April led the club in the Pledge of allegiance, and Keith Carpenter gave the Invocation, and the meeting began.  President Les introduced the guests, and asked Charlie Baumann to begin the Happy Bucks.  There was a lot of gratitude for the lovely weather we've been having; Keith C was happy that his better half was visiting;  Debbie told the club about her trip to San Diego, including a visit to the Ellen show and the granddaughter.  Shiao-yen is raising money at her house again, this time for the Senior Center with a whiskey tasting.  Bob was happy that the Ten Grands event was a great success, and that the thousands of roses that he and Judy contributed to the event were then distributed to veteran's gravesites at Evergreen-Washelli. April was happy that the Boys and Girls Club has hired new Kindergarden through 2nd grade teachers.  Scott is heading to Port Orchard to be recognized by the local community for the Jingle Bell Run.

Carol's Rotary question was about Edward Jenner and the invention of the smallpox vaccine.

President Les introduced Dawit Solomon from Middle College High School, who presented the May Student of the Month, Najib Moallim (see related story).

President Les told a joke about a man communicating with his dead wife.  It sounds like it couldn't be funny, but it was.

Keith C presented information about the Block Party on June 24th from 2-6 at the Oak Tree parking lot.  Scott Weaver will help organize the Rotary club's participation.

Caol suggested that the club tour the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as a Club Meeting.  It was agreed that the club will find a date in the summer and arrange the tour.

After lunch, the club listened to the speaker of the week, Shelli Daniels.
