We started out by giving Katie a belated Happy Birthday serenade!
The Happy Bucks basket collected money from Les who announced he is now with Principal Financial Group; nothing was on the calendar for last weekend for Bob or Judy so they accomplished a lot of yardwork; April told of the good changes at the Boys and Girls Club and also brought us up to date on her wedding plans; Carol critiqued THE PRODUCERS now playing at the Village Theatre in Issaquah ("fabulous!); condolences to Charles on the death of his sister who died of cancer; Ed was so happy to have Oklahoma beat The Lakers; and Mark Canlis is flying to Scotland this weekend in search of the barrel of whiskey!

Les announced that our Club also won the Presidential Citation at the District Convention as well as the Literacy Award and _______________. He called our attention to Scott's email concerning The June 24 Block Party and the need for everyone to sign up to help.
Changing of the Guard party will be sometime in the first two weeks of June. And Les will talk with Shiao-Yen about hosting it.
Keith told of his introduction to Canlis Restaurant and then inviting Mark Canlis, his wife and three children to Keith's home for dinner! Mark then gave a brief history of the 62 year old family-run Canlis Restaurant which has received numerous awards. It truly is a fine dining restaurant. It all started with his Granddad born on Grand Lesbos island in Greece, migrated to Turkey, cooked for Teddy Roosevelt in Cairo and started his first restaurant in Stockton, CA. Hospitality is most important. An experience you can trust. There are 91 employees hired for their trustworthiness. Mark's Mother emphasized "Other Centered" with the emphasis focused on the guest. Mark was a most effective presenter and we thank him for taking time to be with us.
(Canlis does live up to its reputation, says Carol).
