| Long-Term Care Insurance: Something to Consider |

Jonathan Poling, a Senior Vice-President from Primerica, was introduced by Club Service Program Chair Robert Robert, and then proceeded to stress the importance of Long-Term Care Insurance in our Club presentation Wednesday.

Jonathan and his wife Lucia have over 36 years combined experience with Primerica. They moved to the CentralCoast from Nashville five years ago to satisfy a yearning to live near the ocean. They set up an office in PismoBeach, with a plan to open up to five more in the area in the next two-and-a-half years. They still manage three offices in Tennessee, as well as one in Honolulu.
According to Jonathan, Long-Term Care Insurance is the fastest growing insurance product today, because people are living longer and need more care. Not all assisted living facilities are good. Most are over-crowded and under-staffed. In-home care givers are expensive. Long-term care is inevitable and a reality. Everyone needs to prepare in advance.
He had a personal situation with his mother needing to be placed in an "old-folks home". Years before that became a necessity, Jonathan said that his mother told him that she did not want to be a burden to anyone. So her family invested in Long-Term Care Insurance then, and she received quality care to match her lifestyle, eventually moving out to California to be close by. She was able peacefully pass away while never being that "burden" early this year.
Primerica uses Genworth Financial to fund their Long-Term Care Insurance policies. Taking care of a loved one takes a tremendous toll emotionally, financially and physically. There are several plans available and with healthcare costs increasing 5-7% each year, the Long-Term Care Insurance can be obtained with riders that increase the payments to match inflation. It is a great alternative to take care of elderly loved ones, especially when they do become more than what their children and their families can handle.
