Chazala Sinclaire
spoke to us about the upcoming Oceano Clean-Up Project. She was introduced to the Club by Service Chair Robert Robert.
An Oceano resident on the Oceano Community Service District's Clean-Up Day committee, Chazala said that a postcard was sent out to the residents of Oceano that they need to
"clean up the joint." The county unincorporated area south of GroverBeach hadn't had a community clean-up day in 13 years. The Clean-Up day will be October 15-16, with a followup a week later to haul large appliances and furniture.

They need help: trucks, shovels, and brooms. She went to her handbag and produced posters that she unrolled and handed to the room, to be placed in businesses to get the word out. She also passed out proposals for people to contribute.
They will be cleaning up Oceano and Halcyon. Halcyon, on Oceano's southern tip, had asked to be included in the clean-up effort. The California Conservation Corps will be helping the communities' citizenry in the effort, however Chazala said that they would also appreciate GroverBeach, ArroyoGrande & PismoBeach residents' assistance. There will be a Spaghetti Dinner at the conclusion of the Clean-Up.
Chazala said that some of the details on exactly how this is going to come together are sketchy, but they will do it with whatever support they receive. The Clean-Up Committee is also going to be in the Arroyo Grande Harvest Parade this month, and will need an old truck and/or convertible to ride in, to further publicize their need. She'd like to know if the any Grover Beach Rotarians will be able to help in any way, especially for the parade, because she needs to give the length of the car in the Harvest Parade application.
