Sandy Nichols introduced the speaker: Jen Miller graduated from Fordham University in 2005; directed a Vocational School in Africa for three years; volunteered with Alpha to work with moms and babies and is currently the interim executive director with Alpha; on April 4^th, she married her high school sweetheart.

     Alpha is a non profit agency founded locally in 1980 to provide free pregnancy testing, nonjudgmental counseling, parenting education and support; and, practical support for teen and adult women, infants and their families during pregnancy. They believe in empowering women to make their own choice after exploring all options; they do not refer for adoption but believe that it is a unique decision after being well informed. All alpha services are FREE!

     Pregnancy testing is confidential; all options are explored when unexpectedly pregnant; there is post adoption, post abortion and depression support, if needed. Layettes are provided within one month before/after birth such as maternity clothing, infant clothing, infant supplies, emergency supply of diapers and formula. Also available are donated items such as infant equipment, strollers, toys, toiletries, cribs, high chairs, etc. Alpha's staff and volunteers are concerned, caring men and women who are dedicated to offering help and non judgmental support for those facing pregnancy, assistance in the first year of life and education based on a respect for life.
