Our candidates for the RYLA summer leadership camp to be held in Catalina Island during the weekend of April 15th. Alyssa Madrid who attends the Downtown Magnet High School and Hilary Peregrina who attends Holy Family Catholic School in Burbank will be representing our club to this yearly Rotary event for teen leaders.
We are pleased to welcome back Rotarian Jennifer Sacro who took some time off to bond with her new baby boy who will be turning ONE year old in a few days! We were also graced by the presence of our winners for the RYLA summer leadership camp to be held in Catalina Island during the weekend of April 15th. Alyssa Madrid who attends the Downtown Magnet High School and Hilary Peregrina who attends Holy Family Catholic School in Burbank will be representing our club to this yearly Rotary event for teens. These girls are both smart and articulate and definitely deserve this wonderful leadership opportunity. President Ben's one request is that the two young ladies come back and share their RYLA experiences to the club. PE Cirilo Pinlac talked about the clubs Golf Fundraising event on September 10, 2011 and encouraged our members to support this effort. Our guest speaker for the evening was Mona Marcos who is a Leisure Travel Consultant for Affordable Vacations. She presented a membership based vacation club that provides discounted cruises and trips available only to members. She also talked about a unique opportunity of using the membership program for fundraising causes. President Ben and PE Cirilo will be looking into the possibility of incorporating a cruise prize/raffle from her program for the club's fundraising event.
