J.C. French threw his own lifejacket
to a man who fell out of a boat into the Gulf, but who couldn't swim. That quick thinking saved the non-swimmer's life, and earned J.C. accolades.
The Windward Rotary Club honored J.C. as a Local Hero for his action to save a life during a trip in search of sand dollars.
Windward Rotarian Chris Mixon, his football coach, nominated J.C. for the award. Club President Margi Urquhart said it shows that for heroism, "You
don't need any special skills, "you just have to take action." |
