| Rotary Mourns Dan Bray |

The Rotary Club of Killeen Heights is mourning the loss of Rotarian Dan Bray, who lost his battle with Cancer.

Dan died January 24, 2006 in Temple.
He was born December 20, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Harry and Bertha Vlasaty Bray, and was raised and educated in Cleveland.
Dan graduated from Case Western Reserve University, and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Following the war, he married Esther Linder on October 8, 1949.
He served as Killeen's Director of Finance for 20 years, retiring in 1990. Dan was a Rotarian for 35 years, was a Charter Member of this club, and served as our second president from 1986 to 1987.
In addition, he was a member of the Masonic Lodge; a member of the Shriners; a member of the Karem Temple and Scottish Rite; a member of the board of directors for Killeen Volunteers, Inc.; a former member of the board of directors for the Texas Partners Federal Credit Union; vice chairman of the board of directors for Killeen Teachers Federal Credit Union; and vice chairman of the board of directors for the Killeen Housing Authority. He was also a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Dan was survived by his wife, Esther of Killeen; one daughter, Betsy MacPherson of Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada; and one granddaughter. Dan was preceded in death by one daughter, Ellen Bray, on July 30, 1989. |
