During this new year of 2012-2013, the Rotary International President (Sakuji Tanaka) has set this year’s focus and goal for all Rotarians to actively work in support of Peace Through Service.
Rotary International President Tanaka is quoted as saying “a belief in the power of service lies at the very heart of Rotary. By making service our priority, we put the needs of others above our own.” Our history as a club shows that we know and understand the importance of service both locally and internationally; and will easily support this wonderful focus.
Over the past several months, your newly elected board has worked hard to prepare themselves to meet the goals of this year’s Rotary International Theme. In the coming weeks, we will be introducing our goals that meet both the international theme and the goals of our district.
I truly look forward to the opportunity to serve our Rotary Club as we commit to Peace Through Service in this new year, 2012-2013. This will be a great year to be a Rotarian.
