This last Saturday was the annual Littleton Rotary Picnic. There was a great turn out and a good time had by all. Some of the events that took place were a scavenger hunt for the kids and an egg toss event put together by Darlee Whiting. We had a wonderful meal catered by Dickey's BBQ. Thanks to Bruce Beckman for doing a wonderful job organizing this event.

District 5450 Grants Seminar

On Saturday July 31st, Jean Feist, Bil Rodgers, and Scott Taylor all attending the annual grants seminar put on by District 5450. They explained how to apply for grants from the district for the service projects the clubs are trying to accomplish. The approval of grants are determined by how quickly they are submitted. It is a first come, first served basis. They also explained how the amount of money available for grants is a three year cycle. For instance the amount of money donated in 2007 determines how much is available for 2010. Unfortunately by 2012 the amount of money available for grants is going to be half of what it is for 2010 because donations in 2009 were substantially lower.
