Xinyou Peng and Matthew Maurer received Rotary Community Service Awards at a dinner function on January 30, 2008.
On January 30th, the North Branford Rotary Club gave Rotary Community Service Awards to two NorthBranfordHigh School students for their outstanding work in the community service. Xinyou Peng, who received his award during the first marking period of the school year, logged over 100 hours of volunteer service at the hospital where his mother works. Matthew Maurer, the winner for the second marking period, has logged almost as much time volunteering at the North Branford Fire Department. Each winner received a $50 check in addition to the certificates. Two more awards will be presented, one each for the remaining marking periods.
