Tom Bondi
Tom is a Tax Principal and Director of the Emerging Business Services Group for Berger Lewis, serving start-up and early stage technology and non-tech clients. In addition, Tom oversees the stock options area for the firm to assist companies and individuals in managing, implementing, and planning for stock options; in addition to leading the Mergers & Acquisitions Group and assisting companies through Venture Capital or Angel financings. In his capacity Tom is also an Advisory Board and Board member of a number of companies in Silicon Valley. For early-stage companies his white paper, Company Value Drives the Value of Founders’ Stock, is a must-read (available off the website under Business Resources).
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Santa Clara University and is a Certified Public Accountant with more than 30 years of public accounting experience. Prior to public accounting Tom worked in product management for a major Silicon Valley Semiconductor company and co-founded his first software company in the early 1980's, which was later sold in a successful merger. Tom has broad experiences including the role of interim-CFO and Advisor for many early-stage companies in Silicon Valley. Tom is a local, born and raised in San Jose, which helps facilitate a strong network of connections in the Valley for clients and those we work with.
Steve Ellenberg
Steve was born in Paris, France and raised in San Jose. After graduating from Willow Glen High School in 1981, he attended the University of California, Berkley, earning a BA (magna cum laude and phi beta kappa) in 1985. Steve graduated from Columbia University School of Law in 1990.
After a year of practice with Thelen, Marrin, Johnson & Bridges in New York, Steve joined that firm’s San Jose office. Steve opened the Law Offices of Steven A. Ellenberg in 2008. He was formerly a partner with Ruby & Schofield. Steve’s practice focuses primarily in business litigation.
Steve has been identified as a Northern California “Super Lawyer” every year since 2006. In 2010, Steve was voted by San Jose Metro as the “Best Litigator” in San Jose, and was particularly noted for his ethical conduct. Steve volunteers as a Judge Pro Tem in Santa Clara County Superior Court.
In addition to his legal practice, Steve is currently the President of the Jewish Federation of Silicon Valley. Steve and his wife Susan live in the Rose Garden with their three children Zach, Molly and Naava.
