Michael Knight AO Talks Olympics to Sydney Rotarians on 17 July
Image
The unexpected reasons why the Sydney Olympic Games turned out so well will be discussed by The Hon Michael Knight AO at the Rotary Club of Sydney Luncheon at 12:30pm on Tuesday 17th July at the Castlereagh Hotel, 169 Castlereagh Street, Sydney.

Michael Knight was the Minister for the Olympics from April 1995 until January 2001.  He was also the Minister responsible for the Paralympics and President of the Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games (SOCOG).   He therefore played a significant role in the first phase of development of Sydney Olympic Park.

Since leaving Parliament, Michael has provided advice to a range of organisations, especially in the infrastructure, property and energy sectors, and has advised both the Greek Government and the Organising Committee on preparations for the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.  He joined the Board of the Sydney Olympic Authority in July 2007 and is currently the Chairman.

Apart from analysis and some war stories from the Sydney Games, Michael Knight will speculate on the success of the London Games which commence on 27th July.
